The file based nature of Blog Engine .Net makes me a little nervous. I decided to whip up a little script to take nightly snapshots of my web application folder. The goal was to create a directory with the date in it and to copy the contents of my iis folder on a schedule. This is really just a fancy wrapper for xcopy but I thought I would post it anyway.

set BkupDir="C:\Backups"
set SrcDir="D:\websites"
set Year=%date:~10,4%
set Month=%date:~4,2%
set Day=%date:~7,2%
@ECHO Creating backup directory
mkdir %BkupDir%\%Year%-%Month%-%Day%
cd %SrcDir%
ECHO Begining XCopy
xcopy %SrcDir%\*.* %BkupDir%\%Year%-%Month%-%Day%\ /S /E /V /C /H /R /K /O /Y > %BkupDir%\%Year%-%Month%-%Day%\bkup.log
